After long debates the airport has given both names of the two towns as a solution. Today, Bodrum is a preferred holiday destination with its historical and archaeological values. History

So, the history of Milas-Bodrum Airport stands back 01.04.1997 when it started operations in one building which used as the domestic terminal at the moment. Since the construction of the international terminal in April 1998 it served domestic and international air traffic with two different terminals. All thus due to the increasing passenger capacity, bids for a new international terminal building accepted on a build-operate-transfer model and the present international terminal used as domestic terminal after the completion of the construction.
