The opening of the sarcophagus was personally attended by the Minister of Culture and Tourism Metem Nuri Ersoy. The excavations conducted under the Directorate of the Bodrum Museum of Underwater Archeology.
The Minister of Culture told reporters that the sarcophagus founded on March 8 during construction work. Two skeletons found in the tomb – a man and a woman. Access to the excavation site will temporarily restricted. To protect the artifacts from the sun, archeologists put up a tent. All found items will exhibited at the Museum of Underwater Archeology in the Bodrum castle.

Work on thea gas pipeline construction will meet the needs of Bodrum will initiated by the Ministry of Energy in the near future. Natural gas, which is widely used as an environmentally friendly, economical and clean energy, will come to Bodrum.
