According to the BKM statement, interest and trust in contactless payments is steadily increasing. Since August 1, the limit of contactless payments for a single purchase has increased from 90 to 120TRY. To make a payment in excess of 120TRY, you will need to enter a pin code.
BKM data show that in the first 6 months of 2019 there were 1.2 million contactless transactions. This is 2 times more than the same period last year. Since the beginning of this year, the volume of purchases using contactless devices exceeded 52 million TRY.
