St. Peter’s Castle Will Open In May

Information appeared in the local media based on the statement by the Minister of Culture and Tourism of Turkey. Mehmet Nuri Ersoy says that St. Peter’s Castle will open on May 18, 2019 on World Museum Day.

The Ministry of Culture and Tourism of Turkey announced a date for the completion of the restoration work in one of the main historical sights of Bodrum – St. Peter’s Castle. As is known, this object is among the candidates for inscription on the UNESCO World Heritage List.

The General Directorate of cultural assets and museums of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of Turkey carrying out restoration work at St. Peter’s Castle. And the Museum of Underwater Archeology since October 1st, 2017. For this reason, the museum closed to the public.
