Dalaman Airport History
Building work for Dalaman Aerodrome started in 1976 and finished in 1981. It opened to service with the statue of aerodrome. Through the decision numbered 90 and dated 29.08.1989 it gained airport statue.
Dating from 1981 when the inauguration made airport has been increasing the number of passengers every day in domestic and international air lines. In 1981 while the number of staff are 30 in airport. For example, in 2010 this amount increased to nearly 10 times more which is 341.
According to statistics Dalaman Airport keeps the honour of being the 5th biggest airport of Turkey.
